Our building surveys
Sometimes building defects have no obvious cause. Our team of RICS Building Surveyors are there to provide key advice for maintenance and repairs. This ensures that the correct trade can be appointed and the remedial works will effectively stop the defect from occurring.
The process will involve inspecting the defect before reviewing both the interior and exterior of the building, looking for any signs of defects, deterioration, or damage which would lead to that defect. This typically includes cracking defects which could be caused by subsidence, thermal movement, shrinkage/expansion of materials etc. Another example would be water ingress defects from rising damp, leaking roofs, leaking rainwater goods, services leaks etc.
After completing the survey, we will provide a detailed report outlining the observations, making an analysis and providing recommendations for repairs or maintenance. This information can then be used for an appropriate repair first time.
What our building surveyors can do for you
Defect Diagnosis
Defect diagnosis is a crucial process aimed at identifying, analysing, and resolving flaws or issues within a building. It involves a thorough examination to pinpoint the root cause of problems, enabling effective corrective measures.
Planned Maintenance Schedules
Planned Maintenance Schedules are essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of large domestic blocks of flats. These schedules outline regular intervals for repairs and redecorations, advising on suitable service charge levels and addressing safety concerns. By adhering to planned maintenance schedules, there will be less of a need for unforeseen large costs.
